About Illini Amtrak at 40

Illini Amtrak at 40 is a Flickr group dedicated to celebrating Illinois' Amtrak operations in it's 40th anniversary. The rules for this group, as outlined by Paul Burgess, are...

1.) The photos should feature an Amtrak theme--people, places, structures, trains, operations, etc. They should be taken in Illinois on May 1st, 2011 "Almost" Illinois--say northwest Indiana and Wisconsin south of Milwaukee--are OK too. Basically, what we all generally recognize as Illini Rail territory.

2.) Let's keep it safe, so no photos that required trespassing or some sort of interference with the railroad's operations, or anything that would have caused a hazard.

3.) Let's try for the broadest possible coverage, so if you end up at a location and there is already an Illini Rail shooter at that spot, think about another location (after saying hi, of course).

4.) Don't forget the railroad runs at night, too. [...] Don't hesitate to get out there after sunset.

5.) If you run into other fans out there on 01 May, say hi, shake hands, and chat a bit. One goal of this, and it's a big one, is that we all interact [together].

6.) Video is acceptable.

Remember, this isn't a contest--it's a group activity meant as a chance to document a historic date in Amtrak's operations right in our own backyard, and a chance for us to have fun as a group.
