Ikarus is a bus manufacturer based in Budapest, Hungary. It was established in 1895 as Uhri Imre Kovács- és Kocsigyártó Üzeme (roughly: Uhri Imre's Blacksmith Workshop and Carriage Factory).
Az Ikarus egy magyarországi autóbuszgyár; 2004-es bezárásáig a világ autóbusz piacának egyik meghatározó szereplője. Közel két éves szünet után a cég 2006 második negyedévétől újrakezdheti a termelést.
Ikarus ist ein ungarischer Hersteller von Automobilen. Bekannt ist die Firma hauptsächlich für ihre Reisebusse und Stadtbusse, die in den Zeiten des sozialistischen Osteuropa eine bedeutende Rolle spielten. Zu den Modellen zählen z.B. die besonders im Gebiet der ehemaligen DDR eingesetzten Typen 280 oder 260, die in enormen Stückzahlen eingesetzt wurden und überall das Stadtbild dominierten. Die letzten Busse dieser Reihe verließen im Jahre 1990 das Band.
