About I Heart Yau Leung 邱良
This group is for people who love the work of the great Hong Kong photographer, Yau Leung.
Considered one of the most important photographers in the history of Hong Kong, Yau Leung's career spanned over thirty years. Working exclusively in black and white, he amassed an extraordinary collection of street scenes, portaits and cityscapes that are counted among Hong Kong's most cherished social documents. Yau Leung's last important show was held in the London Photographers' Gallery in 1997, the same year that he passed away.
You're welcome to submit photographs in the style of Yau Leung, or which reference aspects of his photography. They don't have to be pictures of Hong Kong, so long as they draw on Yau Leung's approach to image-making. See the discussion "Yau Leung Style: Some Guidelines."
