The first freeway in Texas! Today, IH-45 runs from Mile Marker 0 (at 59th street in Galveston) to the I-30/I-345/US 75 interchange in Dallas some 284.9 miles (458.5 km) away.
Along the way it passes through the cities of Texas City, La Marque, League City, Spring, Conroe, Willis, Huntsville, Madisonville, Centerville, Buffalo, Fairfield, Corsicana, and Ennis.
