About iFit Live on Flickr
Just a group where end-users of iFit Live-enabled exercise equipment can share their photos, screenshots, or videos of their iFit Live workouts.
iFit Live is an interactive technology which connects exercise equipment via the Internet to iFit.com's servers. By combining on-board firmware pre-installed in iFit Live-equipped treadmills, stationary bikes, and ellipticals Wi-Fi access to your home network, and Google Maps integration, it now becomes possible to simulate running/walking/hiking/cycling anywhere in the world!
An on-line library of pre-defined routes are already available, covering famous locations around the U.S. In the future various 5k, 10k, half marathon and full marathon routes are also promised to be available.
As elevation data is available to iFit Live-enabled equipment via it's Wi-Fi connection, resistance (for ellipticals and stationary bikes) or even inclination/declination (for incline treadmills) can be adjusted based upon the simulated terrain.
Perhaps the most exciting part is that all routes are supplemented by Google Maps' Satellite imagery as you progress through your course, as well as Map and Satellite views wherever available. (A separate Internet-connected browsing device is needed for this feature, usually a laptop or netbook.)
One can even create their own routes anywhere in the world, whether off-road or on, or even a combination of the two. This is done via an interactive editor on iFit.com once you become a subscriber.
In addition to iFIt Live/Google Maps routes, one can also receive customized week-to-week training workouts based upon the user's objectives, designed and voiced by Jullian Michaels.
