About Identify this
What is it? What does it do? What is it for?
It happens to all of us, we see a thing and wonder, "what is it?". That's the thought behind this flickr group. Post a photo of the things you have always wondered about and (hopefully) some bright flickr member will be able to identify it for you.
The only rule is that you must post a photo which contains an object you want to know more about. Post photos with a subject which you are curious about. Feel free to use the flickr "add note" feature to highlight a specific area in your photo. You can also use the comment or description field beneath your photo to ask a more specific question.
Users respond to your photo by helping identify the subject of your photo using the comment feature at flickr.
Note: This is not a puzzle group. There are several groups on flickr where photographers post an interesting photo and users guess in an attempt to indentify the subject. This group is essentially the opposite: the point is for photographers to post clear images of items they do not know about and have flickr users who do have some knowledge on that object to lend their expertise.
Example:

I've been driving by this thing for a few months wondering, "what is it?". I'm turning to the flickr community to help identify this structure and its purpose. My best guess is it's weather related but I really have no idea.
