20 Oct 11 - Thank you for adding all your gorgeous images! Feel free to add your images and if you are not sure what to add please refer to my post in the discussions section, but please make sure they adhere to the rules! There have been lots of lovely photographs flooded into the pool but unfortunately some of them have not adhered to the rules and have consequently been removed. This is not for views, parts of buildings or interiors.
Could you also please tag your photograph 'Iconic Building'
Thanks

About Iconic Buildings (Worldwide)
This is a group for admiring those photographs which either sum up a country, state or city simply by the building captured, or tell the viewer where the photograph was taken without having to check the description or map, thereby making them iconic.
Please post all your photos of any building which does this. Ideally the building will be the main point of focus, however as long as the image still relates to the term iconic this is fine. Please be as creative as you want or abstract but this group is not for cut and stitched photographs. Please also put a description stating what the building is and its location (for those viewers who may not know the building), and ideally geotag the image as well.
Definition of building - Anything which is built or constructed in a permanent / semi permanent location.
ie. bridges, houses, towers etc
There are a few minor rules to adhere to-
1)Please submit exterior shots only. There are some fantastic interior shots but unfortunately it is difficult to distinguish what the building is from inside. Internal shots will be removed.
2)No stitched photos including those stitched to form panoramic photos.
3)No general shots of towns / cities / views etc where you can just make out tiny buildings. This group is for buildings not views.
4)The building has really got to be the main point of focus in the photograph, not a small speck.
5) It is not essential to see the entire building but it is important what could have been shot is not obscured. Do not want tiny parts of a building.
MOST IMPORTANTLY -Please note this is for ICONIC BUILDINGS only! NO NUDITY or SEXUALLY EXPLICT MATERIAL - ANYBODY DOING SO WILL BE BANNED! Ideally there also will be no people in the image unless they complement the overall image.
Failure to comply by the simple rules above may result in the photo being removed from the pool. It is lovely to show off photographic skills but this group is not to be flooded with any photograph as lovely as it may be, this is only for photographs with an Iconic BUILDING.
Could you also please tag your photograph 'Iconic Building'
N.B There are no rules about commenting on other people's images, though this is encouraged. Also please feel free to discuss and debate anything relating to the subject matter but there is one rule- KEEP IT CLEAN- Refrain from swearing or using any obscenities. Any posts will be deleted and repeated use will result in a ban.
