I Know You !
Welcome to the I Know You ! group.

My name’s Paul Sivyer and as I’m 50 this year (2008) I thought it would be fun to have a massive “online get together” of family and friends.
The aim is simply to compile a collection of photos of my family and any friends I’ve made through the ages and to allow people to keep in touch with me and with each other!
I'd really like to see family members who I've never met or haven't seen for a long time uploading their images.
I‘ve a fair collection of photos of close family and friends already and I’ll be posting many of these over time. As a member you can also post images and participate in the discussion threads.
So that the site doesn't become unweildy it's limited to to anyone RELATED to me or to FRIENDS and their immediate family:
In a nutshell, this Flickr group is all about all the people I’m related to and any people that I know!

Here are a few guidelines that I think should help the project work - and they are only guidelines. Nothing's set in stone yet!:

* Anyone who knows me is welcome to ask for membership. This Flickr group will be PUBLIC but by invitation only. If you're family or a friend then you're welcome - if not, please don't be offended when you're refused!

* I Know You ! members must upload at least one recent photo of themselves, state whether "family" or "friend" and include a little bit of history about themselves e.g. your name (first names only are OK if you’d rather not use your full name), maybe include the area you live in (not your address), your age (year & month of birth would be nice), your job, favourite pastime etc. and how we’re related or how you know me. Something like this:

* Family members can upload any family photographs that they have (no matter how distant the relationship). It’ll be great for us to see who we all are and see any photos of those now departed.

* Friends who are members can upload any photos of their immediate family (e.g. spouses, children, parents, brothers or sisters) or, any other photos of people that I also know.

* It would be great to have lots of photos of you showing how you’ve changed over the years (aka the “Ravages of Time”). If anyone has old photos that you think should be on the site that are not in digital form, I’d be happy to scan them. Email me to discuss it and if it’s practical we’ll organise something.

* The type of photos I’d like to see are of people: in portraits or groups, having reunions, on holiday, in action, at weddings or christenings, birthdays, having a party or barbeque, just relaxing or messing around – basically any photos with people in them.

* Photos don’t need to masterpieces – the clearer the better but as long as you can make out their faces it’s OK!

* Photos of the exterior of past and present family homes are also welcome. At the moment this is the only exception where people don’t have to be in the photo.

* I Know You ! members are expected to “spread the word” to encourage as many people as possible to contribute images.

* Lastly, please make sure you’re aware of the Flickr terms and conditions, especially those relating to “acceptable images”. No nude, rude or (very) embarrassing pics!
