About I-40
Interstate 40 runs for 2,559 miles across the width of the United States. The westernmost end is located in Barstow, California. Its easternmost part is located in Wilmington, North Carolina. Much of the western portion of I-40, from Oklahoma City to Barstow, parallels historic U.S. Route 66. During its trip across the United States it passes through California, Arizona, New Mexico, Texas, Oklahoma, Arkansas, Tennessee, and North Carolina and through 25 major cities.
A sampling of I-40 is a sampling of America. Western deserts, eastern beaches, farming heartland, and all of the cities, fields, culture, and people comprise its unique experience.
This group is dedicated to the photography of this experience, the sum of its reach, and certainly a great deal more than just the interstate highway itself.
