About Hydro Connect Poncho Competition
WINNERS ANNOUNCED!

IF YOU FEATURE IN EITHER OF THE TWO PICTURES, SIMPLY EMAIL PONCHOWINNER@CONNECTMUSICFESTIVAL.COM WITH THE SUBJECT I'M A PONCHO WINNER!!
Ground sheets, rucksacks and capes were just a few of the innovative ideas that Hydro Connect festival-goers came up with when putting their free Scottish Hydro ponchos to good secondary use.
Two winners have been chosen as it was too difficult to pick between the two! These feature a fantastic pair of waterproof ‘breeks’ and a clever rucksack (with the hood used as its lid!).
Scottish Hydro ran this competition to demonstrate to festival-goers the importance of reusing products time again. Ideas were posted around the festival site – giving people motivation to use their poncho for another purpose than to keep themselves dry. Ideas included, taking it home to wear when washing the dog and using it as a camping pillow. The ponchos themselves were made from a high quality biodegradable material to encourage them to be recycled and not end up in landfill.
The ponchos came in very handy when the skies opened on Sunday however for the first few sunny days of the festival people had a lot of fun coming up with some fantastic innovative ideas.

To recap your memory, here's our Poncho Top Ten:
1. Grab yourself a drink and a buttie. Sit on it and have yourself a
perfectly civilised picnic.
2. Knot together and have a game of tug-of-war.
3. Wrap the sides round your waist and use the hood as a carrier bag for your drinks.
4. Then grab a corner with a friend and take your bottles for recycling.
5. Don as protection to keep those pesky midges at bay.
6. Squish it up, instant camping pillow.
7. Throw it on the car backseat and keep the mud from sticking.
8. Wear it to wash the dog.
9. In winter, they make great sledges. Chocks awaaaaaaaay!
10. Get together with your mates and make a huge poncho tent.
