About Husk - AM Radio
June 2010 - AM Radio has been able to bring back Husk another time, which many will be very happy about, and it is now the setting for a new build called.. The Ferry.
He has built a beautifully detailed ferry which is set out on the lake, and gives the appearance that it is traveling across it. He has added a very realistic engine and horn sound to it, and many other really nice details. Its design is based on the ferries that travel back and forth across Lake Champlain between New York and Vermont.
This build was hosted by Mencius Watts, and IDIA, the Institute for Digital Intermedia Arts, which is part of Ball State University's Center for Media Design in Indiana. The Ferry closed in September 2011.
Past versions of Husk:
August 2009 - AM Radio has been graciously given space to reopen his much loved build, Husk, by Mencius Watts, and IDIA, the Institute for Digital Intermedia Arts, which is part of Ball State University's Center for Media Design in Indiana. This build closed on Nov 22, 2009.
May 2008 - AM Radio has recently transitioned his well-known desert build at Husk, which was "an experiment in horizon, potential, safety, and memory" into a magnificent water build.
The new build is a large shallow lake with a radio house rising on wood pilings from the middle of it. The build retains the great expansive horizon views that he had previously at his desert build, but this time the distant view is of a shoreline of trees, just beginning to change to their autumnal colors with near hills rising up behind them, and hazy mountain views in the far distance. He remade the horizon view with a panorama he took while in Vermont.
As he has said, this is his first water build, and what a beautiful build it is, with such a feeling of peace and comfort that you will never want to leave.
This older version of Husk had been hosted by NMC Arts Lab .
All your pictures from all the various versions of Husk are welcome in this pool.
