About Bygone Hurst Green

This is a group to bring together images of Hurst Green, East Sussex in days gone by.

Images are of old photographs and postcards, showing how the village has changed over the years. Pictures of particular interest are those showing village events, organisations, Clubs and Societies, and village people. Also images of buildings that no longer exist and views of parts of the village with few or no buildings, that are now built on.

Any names of people, places or events attributed to any of these pictures has either been added by the person who uploaded the picture, or the details have been supplied to me to add later. Time can play tricks on memory, so it is possible that someone has given a wrong name for a person or place, if you see something that is incorrect, please let me know so I can check it out and adjust the entry as required.

If you know the names of any of the people in pictures that have not yet been named, let me have the details so I can add them. Where a picture has a lot of people and it is less easy to identify individuals with a list under the picture the names are embedded in the picture, just run your mouse over the picture to reveal the names.

If you know anyone who owns pictures that would make a nice addition to this collection, but they do not have the ability to upload them, borrow the pictures and upload for them {or ask them to lend them to me to upload}, please acknowledge in the description the person who has loaned the pictures.
