What is the Newcastle - Hunter Valley Photographers Group?
The group was set up when the original local Newcastle & Hunter Valley based group Novocastrian Maybe died off and a few locals decided we needed an active group for local photographers (from beginner to pro) to show off their work and show the world photos of the greater Hunter Valley region (Catchment area is Central Coast to Forster and out to Murrurundi) and to learn and expand their knowledge in the great art of photography.
With its friendly and welcoming atmosphere and Monthly comps, fortnightly assignments, regular meet ups of members and helpful hints and tips from more experienced members within a year it became one of the most active locality based Flickr groups in Australia and nice to see other groups copy our approach to group activity and forums.
If you have a question, need advice, have a suggestion or have some tips others might like free to post to the topic forum. There are also some regular sticky treads of interested linked above.
DON’T BE SHY GET INVOLVED
Who can join and what photos can be posted
Anyone from anywhere in the world is welcome to join, but please try and keep the majority of pool photos from the Newcastle - Hunter Valley region. We do welcome members to post pics of holidays they have been/are on or ex-locals to post pictures of their current location.
Meet Ups
Thinking of shooting something but don't want to go alone? Part of the growing popularity of this group are the regular meet ups and outings.
Don't be shy, start a thread, you don't have to wait for an admin to start a meet thread and you may be surprised how many people have thought of going to that spot but never wanted to go alone.
