If you look at your photo page you will see a choice above the photo that says all sizes.
Click on that and then choose the small size. At the bottom you will see "To link to this photo on other websites you can either:" Copy what is in box 1 and paste it into the comment box on this thread.

I'm not an admin, but I would say for sure the shots selected as Photo of the Day. Many people also put photos up that are used with the news stories.
The photos that are in contribute you put there by adding a houstonist tag to your photo which they of course encourage.
I'm a total Houstonist groupie and always glad when new people find the site. Tell your friends!
