About Hostile Habitats: Scotland's Mountain Environment

In Short: photo's of things found on Scotland's mountains



Longer: Taking inspiration from the (most excellent) SMT book Hostile Habitats, this group looks at the things we can find in Scotland's mountain environment.

The group has an explorational ethos, it's about learning and enjoying the mountains - so please try and give some information about your photos.

What counts as the mountain environment?
" Everything above the level of enclosed and intensively managed farmland (so not hill side fields)

What should go in this group
Submissions to the group should fit into one of the following catagories

Climate
Geology (rock types and landforms)
Vegetation (mountain plants)
Invertebrate Life
Mountain Birds
Mammals, Reptile, Amphibians and Fish
Human Traces

In addition aim for high quality pictures

What shouldn't go in this group
Cheesy summit shots
Lots of similar shots - we just want your best stuff
