The Hong Kong Café is a place for people to hang out, chat, drink exceptional coffee, eat healthy snacks, home-made cookies and muffins and discuss ideas, aspirations, dreams, travels and photography.
Tasteful artwork, photographs and postcards adorn the walls to provide talking points and inspiration and of course free Internet is available.
Hong Kong Café is located in the heart and soul of travellers, pilgrims, coffee lovers and photographers everywhere.
I chose Hong Kong as the city after which to name my group (and my Café if and when I ever open it) firstly because it sounds cool, and secondly because it's a very cool place. It offers a little bit of almost everything, but most importantly I met someone very special there and that person was the reason I started to view the world in a different way. So, hopefully one day Hong Kong Café will be born in the very city after which it takes its name. (and not the other way around if you know what I mean)
The theme of this group is admittedly, rather ambiguous but I think anyone who enjoys travelling, meeting people learning about other cultures and supping good coffee in a roadside café while contemplating their next 'shot' will know what I'm trying to get at.
This group is intended to bring people with similar interests together to discuss, inspire and share. It's not intended as a place to show off or promote yourself or to collect comments and views. But we're hoping for more than a 'post and run' group too. The forum is wide-open for discussion and there is always plenty of space to display your work.
Please add your best travel photos - Hong Kong, cityscapes, landscapes, beaches, portraits, macro, close-up, sun-sets, still life, your favourite restaurants, coffee shops, people or anything that inspired you or you think will inspire other people and brighten the walls of the Hong Kong Café.
If you can imagine your photograph on the wall of your favourite coffee house then it's probably right for the Hong Kong Café.
Please, no trolling or shameless self-promotion. Please comment on other peoples photographs, it's not in the rules but it is good for your karma.
Remember, your photos don't have to be of Hong Kong - think of the café as a virtual coffee house or photo club - we're a community, aww, that's nice.
