Group Description

The discussions area of this group will be used to inform you about current and ongoing HNHS projects. We plan to give you lots of ideas for great photographic projects and you could get your work published in a scientific journal or on a charity greetings card.

Please tag your photographs carefully. It is important that words such as Herts & Hertfordshire are used on ALL photographs posted in the group. Species and location names are also essential.

Hertfordshire Natural History Society promotes the study and recording of the flora and fauna in Hertfordshire and encourages a wider interest in natural history including the conservation of wildlife, habitats and geological features. We have been studying and documenting the natural history of our county for over 130 years.

We are a membership organisation, funded by voluntary subscriptions and donations and run entirely by volunteers. The Society was established in 1875, initially in Watford but soon extending throughout Hertfordshire. We are registered charity number 218418

This group is a place to submit photographs for possible publication on the HNHS web site, in the societies annual magazine 'The Naturalist' or in various other books and periodicals produced by the HNHS.

Unfortunately there are just a few rules...

It is assumed that all photographs uploaded to this group are available for use by the society. (full credit will be given and the photgrapher will be informed before the image is used whenever possible).
Submissions may be of wildlife, habitat, landscape or any activity involving the study of wildlife.
All images must have been taken within Hertfordshire.
Please tag you images with as much information as possible. Subject, date take, location etc.
