19 Jul 10 - Thanks so much to everyone who has contributed to the pool. We have over three thousand pictures now! Keep your eyes peeled for more of these historic gems. It's wonderful to see how much the woodwork varies from region to region.

Remember, please that your pics must include elements of WOODWORK, or they will be removed from the pool. Other elements (bronze, copper, stone) are okay as long as there is woodwork ALSO. The photos should also be ORNAMENTAL not functional in nature.

About historic porches, gingerbread, woodwork, millwork, & scrollwork

Trim work on historic homes, sometimes called "gingerbread" adorns many homes throughout the world. Generally it is unique and one-of-a-kind, and representative of craftsmanship not often found today. Sadly it is often decaying. For this reason, photo documentation is critical to it's preservation.

Please share your photos of historic woodwork, scrollwork & millwork, porches and other historical decorative EXTERIOR ORNAMENTAL WOODEN elements including but
not limited to original, restored or decaying:
*newel posts
*railings
*sconces
*brackets
*corbels
*spandrels
*fretwork
*trim
*gable decorations

Please limit photos to include historic exterior trim work. Woodwork does not necessarily have to be victorian to be included, as long as it is historic in nature. New construction trim work will be not be included if submitted.
