The Hillsborough Arts Council announces The Second Annual Handmade Parade

Saturday, October 17, 2009 at 2:30 pm.

What is the parade?
Organized by the Hillsborough Arts Council, The Annual Hillsborough Handmade Parade is a walking theatrical performance, an exciting spectacle of art, creativity, and public theatre.
The Handmade Parade is a Mardi Gras style street parade with giant puppets, stilt-walkers, Brazilian Samba and Marching Bands that will parade through downtown Hillsborough on Saturday October 17th at 2:30 pm. There will be a grand finale’ when the parade ends at the Burwell school, 319 N. Churton St, Hillsborough, NC.

Who can participate?
Anyone can participate! The Hillsborough Handmade Parade is a “community participation celebration”. Everyone is welcome to come to workshops where instruction is provided to make their own costumes, or giant puppets for the parade.
