About Helensburgh Green Belt Group

The Helensburgh Green Belt Group is a local voluntary organisation dedicated to protecting and enhancing the countryside around Helensburgh. Green belts around urban areas are a feature of the UK planning system which recognises the importance of avoiding urban sprawl and directing growth to appropriate locations. We're not against all developments but we do demand that careful consideration is given to the long term effects of proposed developments.
