About Reptiles and Amphibians of Indiana

This group is designed to aid in the identification and general knowledge of the native reptiles and amphibians of Indiana. Anyone can post photographs of reptiles and amphibians (collectively called herpetiles or herps for short) that were found in Indiana here. There are no posting limits, but please limit photographs to ONLY photographs of reptiles and amphibians that were photographed IN the state of Indiana.

Please include the common and scientific names of the species posted in the title. For the photograph's description PLEASE limit any information about locality to the county level. Being any more specific about sites allows anyone browsing the web to potentially find the site and potentially harm or collect specimens.

You are encouraged to post herp photos here especially if you don't know what species it is. Someone in the group will help ID it for you.
