Welcome to the Scramble!

UPDATED WITH WINNERS!!!

Thank you everyone for playing along today. You all did a stupendous job on your cards.

The winner of the digi kit from Hero Arts is susafras (Susan).
Congratulations! Please flickr mail Tami about this prize.

The random winner for the stamp prize is rcwidow (Linda).
Congratulations! Please flickr mail me your address so I can send out the goodies.

My husband looked through all the entries and picked Tina! Yeah Tina!
He really liked your clean and simple designs and the layered inking on the blue card and the colours and splotches on the purple card.
Please flickr mail me your address Tina.

Thanks again everyone!

Todays challenge is to make SCRAPLINGS !
(more info below on what they are)

1. You are required to make 2 Scraplings which must be of different designs.
2. One Scrapling must contain a sentiment.
3. One Scrapling must contain the colour purple OR yellow.
4. Use at least one Hero Arts stamp or digital image on your projects.

You have 90 minutes to create and upload your projects.
The Scramble ends at 3:30 Eastern, 2:30 Central, 12:30 Pacific

Tag your project with quickcard17 (one word, no spaces)

Link a photo of your card here in this discussion.
To do this, go to your project and copy the URL
Paste it into your discussion thread here and put square brackets [URL] around the URL
eg. [www.thescrambleissomuchfun/yippeee/N847032]
After you click POST NOW the pic will appear in your thread

After the Scramble, two random winners will be drawn. One of the prizes is for a digital kit donated by Hero Arts and the other is for the prize seen below, plus four of the Scraplings I made.

As a surprise, my husband will pick the Scraplings that appeal to him the most. That person will receive this small prize plus four of the Scraplings I made. Thanks to Greta for starting this!

There may be a few extra goodies thrown in for each prize winner.

What is a Scrapling?

The idea came about by trying to use up all the scraps we have in cardmaking. Specifically when you take a 5 1/2" x 4 1/4" notecard and cut off a piece to make a square greeting card you are left with a piece that is 1 1/2" x 4 1/4". With this piece and other "scraps" you have lying around you make a "mini" card. The size of the Scrapling is not written in stone, it is really a small or mini-sized version of a normal greeting card.

As you can see in my examples, the width of my Scraplings range from 1 1/2" to 2 3/4", but they are all 4 1/4" high.

I have a few examples below to inspire you. Once I started making the Scraplings I couldn't stop and got a little carried away :)
Very addictive!

Good luck and have fun!

Bummer, I just realized you can't really see the bling on the orange, black and white card... they're there, just on top of some of the dots.

Super Cute scraplings everyone!!!! I haven't made one of these in ages!!! Thanks for the reminder.

It thrills me to pieces to see they are still being called Scraplings, way back when I named them, I didn't know what else to call them... they were scraps and darling, so I combined the words and Viola!

Maybe I should do another scraplings week on the blog...they are so fun!

Hugs everyone!
