About Art of Heraldry

Heraldry is the practice of designing, displaying, describing and recording Coats of Arms and Badges (Insignia) and its origins lie in the need to identify persons who were rendered anonymous by armour.

The art and science of heraldry includes not just the full achievement of arms with its component parts (of which the Shield is the main feature) but also standards, banners, badges, the motto and other insignia.

The ancient art of heraldry is still very much alive and visible internationally. Modern logos are a kind of succession to this ancient way of identifying persons and corporations, although many examples of heraldic aberrations can be found among these.

This group is dedicated to fine examples of heraldic art as it is used and displayed globally, whether printed, painted, carved, sculpted, glazed etc.

If you are able to, please give some information about the Arms or a description of where it may be located.
