About hedda morrison - past, present
Welcome!
This group is for photos by Hedda Morrison, taken during her travels around the world, and also of photos submitted by people capturing images taken today, from the same locations, of similar landscapes, buildings, or of the street scenes, portraits and daily life she was so famous for.
This extraordinary German/Australian woman lived and traveled in Sarawak from the 1940s to 1960s. While there with her husband, Alastair, who worked as a Sarawak government official, she took some amazing shots of tribal life. Some of the evocative black and white photographs from mid-century Sarawak were published in books that had captions in four languages, Iban, Malay, Chinese and English.
Prior to moving to Sarawak, Hedda had also lived and traveled through China in the 1930s.

I have not come across any films about this incredible woman. It would be great to find that some actually exist.
