ARE YOU A HEAVYWEIGHT ARTIST?
Public Works Department and Sticker Robot in association with 14BOLT present the HEAVYWEIGHT ARTIST contest. From March 1 thru March 31, 2010. This motley crew of graffiti, street art and sticker enthusiasts have teamed up to bring one lucky winner the opportunity to shine like a heavy weight.

WANT TO KNOW THE DEAL?
From this flickr group of submissions, one lucky artist with the winning entry will receive a licensing agreement from Public Works Department (with a $500 advance) and have the winning entry screened on t-shirts and hoodies. In addition, the winner will receive 1000 heavyweight vinyl stickers of the winning entry printed by non other than Sticker Robot. But that’s not all folks, the lucky artist will also be given the opportunity to submit artwork for an exhibition to be held in NYC. The exhibition will celebrate the launch of PWD’s first event and street-wear line. This group show will be composed of a handful of selected and celebrated artists.

DO YOU WANT IN?
Well, here is your opportunity to shine like a heavyweight! The rules are simple. The work must be ORIGINAL and free of any copyright infringements (no celebrities please). We also ask that the submitted art adhere to a maximum of 4 colors. We are looking for your signature work, artwork that will translate in the screening process and onto apparel, so do your homework before submitting. No theme, just your best work. The contest will run from March 1 thru March 31, 2010. Submitted artwork will be evaluated by a distinguished panel of judges—Zoltron, 14BOLT and Billi Kid.

HOW TO ENTER:
1. You must have a flickr account.
2. Add your artwork to your flickr account.
3. Tag your artwork with "HeavyWeightArtist".
4. Add your artwork to the "HeavyWeightArtist" group.

5. A total of 10 submissions per artist.
6. Hold your breath. Winner will be announced on April 5, 2010.

What are the Judges looking for?
1) The artwork must be ORIGINAL.
2) The artwork must be YOUR OWN and free of any copyright infringements.
3) The artwork must be NEW and free of any previous publication or commitments.
4) The artwork must be 4 COLORS or less.
5) The artwork must translate well onto SILK SCREENS.
6) The artwork must translate well onto APPAREL.
7) The artwork must translate well onto STICKERS.
8) The winning entry must be EXCLUSIVE to PWD's licensing agreement.
9) The artwork must KICK ASS.
