About HDR vs. Non-HDR

THE ONLY RULE: at least 2 side-by-side comparison shots.
At least one image must be a balanced, non-HDR image!

Let's show how great HDR is by posting side-by-side comparisons (only these will be allowed into the group pool) of HDR and non-HDR images.

Add HDR images taken with any device: DSLRs, iPhones, point-and-shooters, all are welcome!

After it's implementation within Photoshop in 2005, High Dynamic Range imaging is a technique still in its infancy! Like any instrument at man's disposal, HDR is often misused and abused. some images require less HDR some require more to accurately represent what the human eye sees. However, the debate is not if but how.

This group is designed for the technically inclined and not designed solely for the exposition of aesthetic prowess or artistic appreciation although these should be components of the images added to the pool. Our goal is to persuade skeptics that HDR as a technique has applications that create more realistic representations of reality as seen by the human eye!

Some people accuse HDR photography of looking "fake", "cheap", "exagerrated", "not classy", "stupid", "lame", "cartoony", "too much like an illustration", "too grungy", etc.

Let's end this great debate!!
