About HDR Originals and Results

This group is intended to help you refine your skills in creating and tone-mapping HDRs by using other people's original files. Group users can post 3 or more exposures of an image with the intent of letting other users combine these originals into an HDR and tone-map it. Those users can then post their resulting image(s) to the group pool.

This collaboration is useful in three ways. It provides a source of ready-to-HDR images for users with camera's that can't auto-bracket exposures. Secondly, it provides users with a wide variety of images for HDR manipulation and it lets them see what can be done with different HDR and tone-mapping programs. Lastly, it gives users different creative ideas and interpretations of the original set of images.

There are some rules to help us all play nicely, please read them:
1) Post only .jpg files, lets keep things simple here.
2) Only post your HDR results after posting the corresponding set of original images. The idea here is to post your originals, followed by your tone-mapped HDR(s) of those originals. This way you can ask if other users prefer the final image you made with Photomatix or the one you made with Dynamic Photo HDR (or Qtpfsgui or PhotoShop, etc.) or the heavily tone-mapped version versus the subtle true-tone version. There are plenty of HDR groups, this is not the place to post your collection of random HDRs.
3) If you post a set of originals, title them in the following manner; Image Title followed by Relative Exposure [Example: Train (-2), Train (Normal), Train (+2)]
4) If you post a set of originals, you are giving your permission to all other group users to manipulate these images and post them back to the group while retaining your rights to the originals.
5) If you post your resulting tone-mapped HDR of somebody else's originals, use the original Image Title so that other users can utilize the search function to find the originals as well as others efforts on that particular set of images.
6) Polite and constructive criticism is desired. This group is closely moderated and is open to all ages and skill levels. Don't waste your time spamming, posting inappropriate material, or being a jerk.
7) Users are limited to a total of 10 images uploaded to the group each day. If you have good reason to upload more, send me a Flickr email and ask.
8) Enjoy, collaborate, and explore.
