About Atmospheric perspective - Blåner

Each hill gets paler and bluer with distance. This should not be killed with an UV filter, but embraced as a way to get depth in the landscape.

Blåner is plural of blå (blue) in Norwegian. From 'bak alle blåner' (beyond all the blues) meaning very far away.

As English has no compact and poetic term for atmospheric perspective, I fall back on Norwegian. 'Blues' would have been fine, if it didn't mean something else.

They aren't always blue, but a bit of generalization does not hurt.
