About HawkrCentral | Asian Hawker Delights
Have you ever lived in Asia, be it as a local resident or an international visitor?
Ever dare venture out into the streets in search for local food?
Then make yourself at home here!
Let's have a kopi 'o' or teh 'c' together with your choice of main dish (not sure what to eat? check the group pool!) over some conversation.
This group is for pictures of food typically sold at Asian streetside stalls:
nasi lemak, mee goreng, chai tau kueh, satay, sar hor fun, hiong dai mai fun, kueh lapis, seri muka, yao zar kueh, tau foo far, char siew pao etc etc etc.
You may include all the accompaniments too:
sambal belachan, cut chilli, sugarcane juice, milo 'c' ping, kopi 'o', to name a few.
Be creative, be adventurous, make lots of notes so that flickr-ers from different parts of the world can learn about Asian Hawker Delights!
If you wish, you may tag your photos with hawkerfood.
A separate group exists exclusively for Char Kway Teow.
If the street seems too adventurous for your tummy, or hawker food is hard to come by on the street, restaurant shots of Asian hawker fare can be posted too.
Or you could try your hand at cooking it yourself and be your own 'mamak' cook!
Above all enjoy yourself! =) eat well, live well
