Brief //
The Happy Journey Collective is an ongoing project showcasing coffin artworks by the finest illustrators/artists from around the world. To submit a piece, please download the project diamond shaped basic template here. You're also required to include a little thought, phrase or even a word to be the caption of your design. this can be anything (dark, light hearted, funny) just something playing with the idea of an epitaph.
We will be selecting submissions to feature on the project website on a regular basis and if your work is chosen you will be notified immediately.
Sky's the limit, down to your imagination now.
If you have any questions, please ask on the form below or email happyjourneycollective@gmail.com
Read the FAQ before you start on your artwork
Will the coffins be featured without a background, (i.e. white background )?
yes, just the coffin, white background. however, you can extend the drawing and add stuff, such as handles, decorations around it,
all up to you and where your imagination takes you, but it's best to keep the background white so there's no paper borders, edges.
What about the black line on the template, should i keep it?
no, you don't have to keep it, in fact, in most cases, we think it looks better without it or with your own line, border, etc.
the line is just a simple guide so everyone keeps to the basic shape and the project presentation looks consistent.
however, the shape can be played with too, as long as it conveys the idea that it is a coffin.
the main thing is that you have fun with it!
What resolution should i submit my artwork?
please submit files jpg hi res (ie. work in 300 dpi) RGB keeping the file to the size of the template ( A4 // 210mm x297mm ).
upload your artwork entitling it 'Happy Journey' + your caption underneath
About the caption, can it be incorporated in the artwork or just typed up?
yes, the caption can also be incorporated in your artwork. please also make sure you add a link to your website/ or flickr url (whichever you wish to appear on the website, should your piece be chosen to feature)
Thanks for your participation and good luck with your journey!
Best,
- The Happy Journey team
