About Hampshire's Top Attractions - Photo Competition

Budding amateur photographers are being asked to capture the essence of the regions top tourist attraction on digital camera.

A group of the South’s most popular tourist attractions, including the iconic Spinnaker Tower and world-famous Beaulieu National Motor Museum, Marwell Wildlife and Winchester Cathedral have today announced the launch of summer photo competition. The contest is aimed at highlighting Hampshire tourism and encouraging visitors to start exploring the region.

The diverse group of over 20 top attractions will be launching the competition on the weekend of 10th July and it will run until the 1st September - the end of the school summer holidays.

Snappers of all ages can enter with both junior and adult classes offered. Four categories are available - Family Fun, Animals and Nature, Hampshire Heritage, and Food and Drink. A host of prizes are on offer for category winners and the overall victor will receive a family ticket for all Hampshire’s Top Attractions for 2011 and £100 photographic voucher. The winning image will also feature on the group’s 2011 brochure and website.

The competition will be judged by Michael Bedingfield, Chief Executive of Tourism South East and a panel of judges from Hampshire’s Top Attractions.

Competition Rules

The competition will run from the 10th July until the 1st September 2010.

Categories - Adult & Junior
Winner will provide photo that captures the essence of the following categories:

1) Family Fun
2) Animals and Nature
3) Hampshire Heritage
4) Food and Drink
5) Overall Winner

Submission of Images
Images will be submitted through the Hampshire’s Top Attractions flickr group www.flickr.com/groups/hampshirestopattractions/

Images should be submitted in the following format:

1) Name of category
2) Name of photo
3) Name of participant
4) Age of participant
5) Email or contact number

Judging
The Competition will be judged by the members of HTA and Michael Bedingfield, Chief Executive, Tourism South East


Rules
Competition is not open to employees of HTA or their families. By entering the competition the participants agree that their names and town of residence may be disclosed if they win, and that their likeness may be used for promotional purposes. Minor manipulation of images using a software package is permitted. Entrants grant HTA the right a perpetual, irrevocable, non-exclusive licences to use the work for all purposes connected with the competition, included but not limited to post-promotion publicity. Entries must be submitted by 1st September 2010. A maximum of three entries per person is permitted. The winning entry will be the one that judges believe is best. No cash alternatives to prizes are available. Prizes are non-transferable. Images should be submitted in JPEG format.
