About Halifax Nature (Nova Scotia)

This is a bit of a no-brainer, but I'd still like to add some words:
Halifax Nature is a group for you to post photos, illustrations, et cetera, of nature and the related in Halifax, Nova Scotia and the surrounding communities. This can also include nature within the urban areas--don't be afraid to think in broad terms; for example, concepts such as how the urban world and the natural world meet, for better or for worse.

Mostly I hope this will serve to be a place for people to connect with one another on the topic of nature around Halifax. Even if you're not a naturalist, I encourage you to join in. Myself, I enjoy extremes--it's either the vibrant city or the untamed outlands.

I would also like this group to serve as a portal for photographers that may be interested in joining a pet project of mine called:

For now its home is a seperate Flickr group. It is to be a free resource of nature related photos of Halifax, Nova Scotia and the surrounding communities for public use, mostly for non-profit and educational purposes, to be available under several Creative Commons licenses. I'm still working out the framework on this idea, but please contact me if you're interested or have a comment!

Hopefully there will be more ideas to add to this group, if it indeed becomes active enough.
