About Halifax Joint Committee
Pictures related to the local bus company based in Halifax, West Yorks, UK, running buses in variations of the erstwhile Halifax Corporation colours. Pictures of vehicles (including ancillary vehicles) before/after service with the company are welcome, as are pictures of the associated Yorkshire Heritage Bus Co. fleet, including their before/after service.
Halifax Joint Committee is now a predominantly private contract operator, having withdrawn from almost all stage carriage work in October 2010. The one remaining route is Bingley-Bradford Royal Infirmary, a tendered WYPTE service usually operated by leased Enviro 200 vehicles. The company's other main work is for student transport at Huddersfield New College, and a number of WYPTE 'Mybus' school services using ubiquitous yellow BMCs. There are also some supermarket 'free bus' operations. The company is owned and operated by founder & proprietor Tony Blackman, with the support of an engineering and traffic management team. The depot and workshop facility is at Albert Road, Pellon.
Yorkshire Heritage Bus Co. Ltd was founded by Carol & Tony Blackman, who are both directors of this limited company. They operate private hire contracts throughout the north of England and beyond, using an ever-growing fleet of restored vintage vehicles. This fleet is based in modern premises at Luddenden Foot, near Halifax.
This is not an 'official' Halifax Joint Committee group and is for 'enthusiast appreciation' use only.
Please do not enter the depot/yard or take photos there without asking permission.
