About Haiti: Look Back to Look Ahead

This group is dedicated to documenting Haiti's imperiled cultural heritage, one of the most far-reaching and long-lasting consequences of the earthquake which devastated Haiti in January, 2010.

SAFE/Saving Antiquities for Everyone invites you to contribute photographs and videos of Haiti before the earthquake and of the people who helped define the country. We aim to gather images of neighborhoods, landmarks, and homes—where people lived, learned, worked and played, so that a connection to the past remains.

As decisions are made to rebuild Haiti, these visual records give Haitians a say as to what needs to change and what needs to be restored, and recreated anew.

Since these are contributions from photographers worldwide, please observe our group rules before downloading these images and contact us at safephotos@savingantiquities.org if you would like to use them in any way.

SAFE/Saving Antiquities for Everyone is a non-profit organization dedicated to preserving cultural heritage worldwide.
