About Haiku Commentary
Post a photo and members will write a Haiku poem in the comments section, whose topic must concern your picture's subject matter.
What is a Haiku?
A Haiku is traditional mode of Japanese poetry. A Haiku is always three lines long and patterned with approximate (as in non-strict) syllable counts per line. A Haiku looks like this:
[line one/approx. five syllables]
[line two/approx. seven syllables]
[line three/approx. five syllables]
Here's an example of a Haiku:
an old pond—
the sound of a frog jumping
into water
Here's another example:
the first cold shower;
even the monkey seems to want
a little coat of straw.
What are the rules for the group?
After posting a picture to this group you can't post another until either of the following are met:
(1) You've posted Haiku comments to two photos in this group;
-or-
(2) Three new photos by others have been posted to the group.
PLEASE NOTE: You can upload a photo immediately upon joining, without first leaving a comment for others. After this, though, the above rules apply.
This should keep things flowing while still encouraging the comments aspect.
