04 Aug 09 - Please tag your photos with the locomotive class/type e.g. "6800 class", "68xx", "Grange class", "4-6-0" etc. and add the location on the map to aid searching.

Photos that don't comply with the rules (below) will be removed.

About GWR steam locomotives

Photos of historical and preserved steam locomotives designed and/or built by the Great Western Railway. Cololur or b&w.

Please provide as much information about the photo (including date, location, locomotive type, number, etc.) as possible.

The aim of the group is to provide a photographic resource, particularly for modellers, so close-up and detail shots are fine.

PLEASE NOTE: General 'train' shots where the locomotive is not particularly prominent, silhouettes, 'arty' photos etc. should NOT be added unless they are of particular interest from the locomotive point of view.

No model photos please.
