About Detour - Melbourne Street Art Guide
This Flickr Group is used by the Detour Guide to Melbourne Street Art iPhone app. The app is available for free download from iTunes (just search for 'detour' in the app store) or go here itunes.apple.com/us/app/detour-melbourne-street-art/id480....
We'd love for you to join the group and contribute. The app is intended as a guide to the latest, greatest and most interesting Melbourne street art.
The group is moderated to ensure the best possible experience for app users. Here are a few simple steps to follow to make sure your updates are included in the app.
1. To ensure a balance between image quality and download time, All portrait images must be exactly 560 pixels wide x 840 pixels high and all landscape images must be exactly 840 pixels wide x 560 pixels high.
2. Images must be in .JPG format.
3. Try to keep your images below 100Kb; 50-70Kb is best.
4. Make sure you include a title in this format ie. Artist Name (Location) eg. Phibs (Hosier Ln.)
5. Interesting insightful descriptions are an essential part of the guide. Make sure you provide a useful description about the work. The first line of the description should include the title of the work if known, medium and date if known eg. 'Little Diver, Spray paint on masonry, 2010'.
6. Don't forget to include the location of the artwork. You can do this by clicking on the Flickr map feature and dragging the art work to the correct location on the map. The app uses this to display the image on the interactive map
8. You may upload a maximum of seven images per week.
9. This Group is moderated to ensure the best possible experience for users of the app. So make sure the art works you add are interesting and have some sort of Social, Cultural or Historical significance.
