Hmm, so far looks like the ball is being pushed up to Alamo Square. But I do like the location!
Happy early birthday Tom! That day's my dad's birthday too - he'll be 72 years young :) - so I'll be with family as well.
How about the following Saturday the 28th? Oops, that won't work either....

that is not a great day for me, either.
i would definitely love another get-together, though. i've been thinking it is time for another impromptu or even a promptu parrot-feeding trip, followed by a pint in a nearby bar. (also here in Bernal, we have great horned owls who are visible pretty much every day before they take off at dusk.)
not to dissuade gwd from planning a nice weekend picnic with Wine In A Can.

Funny you should mention the great horned owls. I was up in Bernal Hill at 7am this morning and one of them flew overhead then landed on some rocks a few feet away. They're magnificent.

Let's wait until a few more people chime in before setting a date in stone -- I kind of like the idea of Sunday afternoon, rather than Saturday, now that I think about it. Although I'm not sure why.
And I know this is a silly question, but if you go and see the parrots -- which I'm totally up for -- how do you know where exactly to find them? Don't they, like... fly around? Afterwards, maybe a pint in the bar that used to be a ship (that we talked about, but didn't see, on Kyle's tour last summer)? I've still never seen it.

you mean-- The Old Ship? that's a nice place. anyway, the parrots tend to hang around the same places most afternoons-- couple hours before dusk you can find them in the little park opposite embarcadero 3. (that's where i met SFKelly and Tom Hilton for our impromptu parrot party a couple months ago.) (it's also not far from Shroeders or Market Bar for your after work happy hour type needs.)

Between work and traveling to see my parents every other weekend I really have a very small window. If I can stop by on a date that is agreed by everyone then I will. If not then I hope everyone has a great time.
That said I am trying very hard to free my schedule to see Opera in Dolores Park on May 27th.

Fly Bar on Divisadero and Fulton is definitely the closest viable alternative. I don't know if they're open right at noon, might have to wait until 12:30. There's not as much room as Waziema but I can't think of anything else nearby.

Sounds like it was a great time, unfortunately I was felled with 24 hours of aches and fever :(
