gwdexter, I'm not sure what you mean? You can get the HTML to embed images that link to their original Flickr page by clicking on the "all sizes" button above the photo.

That could be.
When I run across an image I want to link to that doesn't give me the HTML, I get the HTML for one of my own images and edit the URLs to go to the other image. It's a pain but it works just fine. There's no good reason for the restriction.

Yep, that's the way it works - when I'm grabbing images for our equivalent to this thread for GWL, I can get them by clicking on "all sizes" if they are still in the pool, or in another group I administer, but not if they've already been removed to our "guessed" thread.

What I do is click on 'all sizes', go to the size I want to embed, right click on 'properties', copy the url, and paste it into [img src=""] (except with the greater than and less than signs instead of brackets).

I don't know what everybody else thinks, but it seems to that the Hall of Fame is of pictures that are either so similar that they seem the same, or have clearly identifiable parts that are the same.
It's not multiple pictures that happen to be of the same location but that aren't at all similar. Those ones of UCSF Mission Bay don't cut it for me. Some of those of the Stockton Tunnel aren't HOF to me.

No need to be too doctrinaire, imho. I see your point, but both the sets you point to do have at least three pics that share visual elements, even if one or two of the others in the set don't. But more importantly, both are interesting view as a group. That's the principal criterion, yes? What do other people think?

I guess you're right, but I kind of worry that by putting many different interpretations of the same location into the Hall of Fame, that we'll end up limiting the possibilities of new interpretations. Because a poster may see 10 different pictures of that UCSF building, they may think that the building itself is off limits.
Posted 60 months ago.

I think it wouldn't make the subject off limits, but may serve as a catalyst for people who have seen it on the HOF to look for different interpretations. Possibly thinking up of different ways to make guessing a HOF more difficult.
It could even be a mini-game in GWSF itself.
Though I do see David's point. I have been guilty of "that would be too easy. I think I've seen that on the HOF."
