About Guelph Photography Discussion Group

GPC members gather for a BBQ summer '08.
Do you live in Guelph Ontario, Canada? Are you from Guelph, or a fan of Guelph? If so then this group is for you.
We are committed to promoting digital and film photography in the Guelph region. GPDG accomplishes this by having monthly get-togethers and plenty of group photo opportunities.
Our get-togethers take place in the last week of each month. We meet in a local bar. Just look for the cameras! You can bring your camera, show your new gear, your old gear, show a great photo you've taken or just enjoy the banter. Talks can be photo related or not. There are many knowledgeable members so if you have any problem or looking for advice this is a great place to ask. So, come out and join us! It's always a laugh. Check the top of the page for the date and time of the next get-together.
Photo Opportunities can be organized by anyone and anybody can go. GPDG tries to have one group photo op per month. Recent group trips have included a raptor shoot at Mountsberg Conservation Area, Royal Botanical Gardens (Burlington), Wings of Paradise (Cambridge), Bird Kingdom (Niagara Falls) and more. There are many smaller ops which occur as well. Check the forum for ops and reply to it so rides and numbers can be figured out.

2008 Scavenger Hunt
The GPDG had a Photo Scavenger Hunt this past summer. Members were to take a photo of 8 items located in the downtown Guelph core in 24 hours. The list was given by Peter Friday night and it was all going down on Sunday.
The results were then printed on a 4x6 and were shown to each other at the BBQ two weeks later.
Everyone came away with really interesting and different shots. A great time was had by all.
