About grow

Gardening in action, for the curious, beginners, and veterans.

I hope we can capture the *process* of what we do, on top of the objects of our labour and love. I want to see pics of your first attempts at growing XYZ, your battles with aphids and scales, your compost pile, your DIY projects, successes as well as unfortunate disasters.

I'm not a great photographer... I take snapshots... but I'm looking forward to visually documenting my adventures in the yard this spring and summer. I hope you are too.

Here are some very loose guildelines for posting photos to this group. The emphasis is on the "doing" part of gardening... stuff you're working on, stuff you made, stuff you are growing. They should evoke your involvement as "a gardener".

Remember to add "grow" to your tags!

How to post small or thumbnail versions of your images in the discussion threads:

Click on the "all sizes" icon (magnifying glass) above your picture (page view, not thumbnail).

Next, you'll see links to the different sizes available (thumbnail to large/original).

Click on the size you want and the page will show you
1) the photo
2) the URL for the pic itself
3) the HTML code to display the image in the discussion thread (you can also use these in your photo comments)

Cut and paste #3 into your discussion post, and voila!

In the spunky and whimsical spirit of my favourite gardening site...
