About Groundhog Day

Members will only be allowed to post images on Groundhog Day (February 2nd.) Posting will be active from 10:00 pm Feb 1 until 4 am Feb 3 United States Eastern Standard Time (EST). Eastern Standard time has been chosen simply because the famous groundhog Punxsutawney Phil lives in that time zone. 8 hours was added to be fair to our friends in Alaska who now have "Marmot Day." Any pictures taken on February 2nd may be posted, but pictures of groundhogs, shadows, odd things, or things that cause de ja vu are highly appreciated. Again pictures should be taken on February 2nd. The Administration reserves the right to delete any picture that is not taken on February 2nd.

The fifth annual posting in the Groundhog Group will be February 2nd, 2011. Until that time, posting pictures will be disabled. After 6:00 am EST on February 3rd posting will again be disabled.

The group first started in 2007. You will see postings from 2007 if you scroll back.
