This group is for sharing and discussing photographs taken off the ground glass of view/press cameras. Images here are taken with a second, usually digital camera to retain some of the look and feel of viewing the ground glass itself.

We hope to complement the main Through the Viewfinder group. Working "Through the Ground Glass" presents new challenges, opportunities and visuals. Seems good to have a dedicated pool

About Through the Ground Glass

After long hiatus, welcome back to the "Ground Glass" group!

This group is intended for sharing and discussing photographs taken off the ground glass of view/press cameras, *not* the reflex cameras which are so well represented in the main Through the Viewfinder group.

Working "Through the Ground Glass", as it were, presents some unique challenges, opportunities and visuals… seems like a good idea to have a dedicated pool and discussions. I've started tagging my ground glass images with "ttgg" as well as "ttv" and hope others will do the same.

We'll be bringing back this dormant group over time so there'll be some pool cleaning from before and I'll work through the lengthy queue that has been built up. For now submissions will be moderated and limited to 2 per day (like the main TtV group).
