About Groombridge Place

Groombridge Place is a country house, estate and gardens. It was first built in 1662 by Philip Packer. It had a checkered history over the next few hundred years. It was visited by Conan Doyle who set one of the Holmes books there and was more recently the film location for The Draughtsman's Contract and the most recent film version of Pride and Prejudice.
