About Green your Home

New green homes are great, but greening up our existing homes are where we'll make huge carbon savings. Over 80% of the homes that will be standing in 2050 have already been built.

To highlight the importance of greening our homes -- also known variously as eco retrofits, green makeovers or sustainable refurbs -- the Guardian is launching a unique experiment called Green your Home.

This Flickr group will follow in pictures the progress of 5 homeowners across the UK as they attempt to green their homes.

We also want to see your photos of anything you've done at home to:
-- improve energy efficiency
-- generate energy
-- encourage your family members or housemates to green their habits and behaviour

We'll feature some of our favourites on guardian.co.uk and maybe in the newspaper version of the Guardian as well. By posting your pictures in this group you agree to let this happen (though copyright remains with you at all times).
