About Great Lakes Shipwrecks
It is estimated that there are potentially up to 10,000 ships which have been lost in the Great Lakes since the early 1800s. This group is about documenting the wrecks that litter the bottom of the Great Lakes.
TAGGING & DESCRIPTION: Be sure to tag and title the name and location of the wreck (state, lake, nearest city, GPS or Loran coordinates) as well note any cool or unique characteristics about it. Description could be the story of the wreck or of the dive in which the photos were taken.
OTHER THINGS TO POST: If you'd like to post maps, side scan sonar captures, photos of vessels before they were lost and photos from dive boats and great lakes dive shops, feel free. Remember though, the main point of this group is to get underwater photos of the wrecks themselves.
