About Greater Ottawa

The Ottawa Citizen runs dozens of news photos every day, but I think there's a shortage of feature art — images of people going about their lives in Canada's capital, of its buildings and parks and streets and trees and rivers.

So in my limited way, I want to fix that, by posting beautiful photos to the Citizen's Greater Ottawa blog. Mostly, the point is to feature great feature photography showing Ottawa as a city, from the pageantry of Parliamentary officialdom to the dairy farms in Osgoode, from hot days on Westboro Beach to people keeping warm late at night on Rideau Street. If it's a great photo, I want to see it.

Preference is for photos of people and buildings and the other works of humanity. Shots of nature are OK, but it's best if they're somehow distinctively OttawaI, which is probably rare.

By submitting photos to this group, you grant permission to show your photos on the Greater Ottawa blog. I will always give you credit and link to the page on Flickr — the idea is to show the images off to as many people as possible.
