About Gravesend (Brooklyn)
Gravesend is one of the original six towns which now comprise the borough of Brooklyn. The town center still contains vestiges of it's 17th through 19th cebtury past. However, the developers have been quite busy in recent years, and the Landmark Preservation people have shown little interest (to the besy of my knowledge) in protecting the late 18th and 19th century farmhouses that have managed to avoid the demolition crane thus far. What is left needs to be documented. What is gone preserved in some fashion, if only through a past photographic record. So if you have photographs of this neighborhood, both past and present, please contribute them here.
