About Gran Fondo Cymru

The Snowdonia region of North Wales provides the closest terrain to the classic European Alpine Gran Fondos and the challenge of this event has attracted cyclists from a wide catchment area, including London, Birmingham, Manchester and Liverpool.

The Gran Fondo route offers a challenge every bit as demanding as L’Etape du Tour and the Super Challenge is the hardest yet devised in the UK and equal to the majority of the premier European events. With professional administration and support, this event will be quickly established as the premier cyclo sportive challenge ride in the UK.

This will be run as a non-competitive event on British Cycling Federation guide lines & strictly adhering to the Road Traffic Act and the Highway Code.

The event supports the Dave Rayner Fund, a registered charity helping young UK riders to establish their careers in Europe, and Ty Gobaith Cymru – the children’s hospice charity.
