Perhaps I need to reiterate one more time that this group is about portraits from the plant kingdom. As good as some non-related submissions are, if they are not in keeping with the theme of the group they will be removed.

About Fine Art & Gothic Botanical Portraiture

Fine Art & Gothic Botanical Portraiture is a collection of unusual and artistic photographs of plants. The photos here are all unique works of art that attempt to capture the soul of the botanical model.

In a world of run of the mill, over-saturated, close-up color images of the flower, there needs to be a community of fine-art photographers who have a vision that is different from that of the herd. The Fine Art & Gothic Botanical Portraiture Group is for those photographers who can look at a cactus, a tree, a coiled fern or a weed and see an emotive being that deserves to be recorded in a true portrait.

We are the children of Karl Blossfeldt. We are modern pictorialists. We use the lens when others might use the paintbrush. We are musicians with the camera who give voice to the otherwise voiceless botanical kingdom.
